Major principles of the university personnel policy:

  • EKSTU employee is the major value and strategic resource supporting the HEI competitive advantages.
  • EKSTU employee is a bearer of corporate culture, the values of positioning, being known, and attractiveness of the university as an employer in Kazakhstan and international labor markets.
  • EKSTU employees are social partners sharing the HEI strategic objectives and the ways of their achieving.

The number of full-time teachers in the current year is 427.

The portion of fulltime teachers with the scientific degrees and titles is quite the same. In 2015-2016 academic year it makes 70%.

The portion of the academic staff teaching in the Kazakh language is 53%, many post graduates are involved in the teaching activity.

23 university employees are the acting members and corresponding members of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

We have developed the system of qualification selection based on the following results: scientific degrees and titles, publications and methodological activity, the length of academic service in the HEI. 

We purposefully work to develop the professional competence and improving the qualification of the EKSTU employees. Thus, 156 employees improved their qualification for 2015. Five HEI teachers became the winners of "The Best HEI Teacher" the state grant of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Institute of Postgraduate Education and New Educational Technologies and the personnel department carries out the employees retraining. A great number of internships is realized on the basis of the leading educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad.

  • transfer of effective academic technologies, ITs

The "Program of Academic Staff Professional Advancement Incentive" is realized, it provides monthly increment in salary based on Rating results. 

The degree of HEI employees satisfaction is assessed on the basis of questionnaires: "The Teacher Through the Eyes of Students", "The Teacher Through the Eyes of Colleagues", "The University Through the Eyes of Graduates", and also through the questionnaires of the employers and the assessment of functioning efficiency of EKSTU Quality Management System. 

In order to improve the personnel quality the university uses modern tools and technologies:

  • personnel screening for revealing risk groups and effectiveness assessment 
  • controlling key characteristics of the employee activity effectiveness through the formats of individual KPI and effective contract.

There are conditions for involving highly qualified engineering specialists which enhances the university prestige and supports the personnel dynamics, the strategy of "career elevator" is implemented, which takes into account the level of professional development and personal creativity of the employee.
