International Cooperation division carries out organizational and technical functions for the establishment and development of external relations of the University with foreign partners in terms of international cooperation plan of “D.Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State Technical University”

“D.Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State Technical University” develops cooperation with more than 74 universities and foreign companies from more than twenty countries. Nowadays in university functions representative offices of international organizations, namely: IGIP - International Society for Engineering Pedagogy , IFEES - International Federation of Engineering Education Societies, IAESTE - International Association of practice and training students Exchange of technical universities and other organizations.

University realize common programs and projects: MBA – “Innovative entrepreneurship” (partner University of Hoseo, South Korea); PhD: technical physics (University named after Otto von Guericke, Germany), Informational systems (University of Minnesota), Geology and prospecting mineral wealth deposits (Natural History Museum, UK) metallurgy (University of Claustal, Germany), logistics (Hamburg Technical university, Germany). EKSTU is the basic university in Kazakhstan by specialty “IT technologies”. Programs of Euro union are successfully being realized: TEMPUS “Institute of strategic management of universities” (coordinator Polytechnics University of Catalonia, Spain) “Student self-government and democratic processes in Kazakhstan” (University of International business); ERASMUS MUNDUS Academic Network between EU and Central Asia" - MANECA, coordinator Technical university of Berlin, Germany.

International cooperation actively is realized in framework of High technologies zone development. Kazakh-Japanese educational research service center of nanotechnologies and electronic microscopy operate in EKSTU. Preparation of specialists on new informational technologies for mining is carried out in common with Micromine Pty Ltd (Australia). Common work of teaching students of all degrees with University of Wroclaw (Poland), MISiS (Russia), University of Minnesota (USA) etc is conducted. Opening the only European corner in the region obtain the recognition of international activity.

University pursues active work of students`, lecturers` and scientists` mobility expansion on the international exchange programs as DAAD, ACCELS, IREX, British Council in Republic of Kazakhstan, `BILIM – Central Asia` educational centre.

In the framework of the ministry of education and science of Republic of Kazakhstan program “Involving of foreign scientists and tutors to leading universities of Kazakhstan” specialists carry out consultations and lectures for master degree and PhD students and also participate in common scientific researches. In 2011 university welcome 64 foreign professors, including 31 from far abroad (University of Hoseo, Korea; Institute of materials technology and connecting technologies of the Magdeburg university named after Otto von Guerike, Germany, Swenson Technological College of Minnesota University, USA, Akita University, Japan, Sao Paolo University, Brazil) and 33 – the representatives of the near abroad (Sean-Petersburg State engineers and economy university, Moscow Institute of thin chemical technology, Moscow Institute of steel and alloys, Zaporozhye State Academy, Kazan Federal university).
