The main goal of the laboratory complex is to conduct fundamental and industrial-industrial research, development and improvement of industrial technologies in the following areas: Non-Ferrous Metallurgy, Pyrometallurgy, Hydrometallurgy, Powder Metallurgy Mineral Resources, and training of specialists in Directions: «Metallurgy» and «Enrichment of minerals».

In accordance with the activities of the laboratory complex, a number of practical tasks and laboratory functions have been formed, among them:

• Carrying out research on orders of industrial enterprises and organizations, research centers and institutes, within the framework of contractual works;
• Carrying out of scientific researches within the framework of implementation of state budget projects;
• Development of scientific and technical cooperation with foreign partners, joint research on international programs;
• Conducting research in the framework of scientific programs of the teaching staff, programs for the preparation of doctoral and master's dissertations, diploma and coursework of undergraduate students.
