The Department of Research Activities is a structural unit of the university, the goal of which is to ensure a leadership position in science among technical universities in the country in terms of the share of publications and scientific results in priority areas of scientific and technological development of the world economy.
Main goals:
- increasing the scientific potential and research productivity of scientists;
- development of international research projects and interdisciplinary collaborations;
- diversification of sources of funding for scientific research and strengthening of scientific and innovation infrastructure.
Functions:
- coordination and provision of organizational, methodological and advisory, information and analytical support for the research activities of the Competence and Technology Transfer Centers, research centers, and university schools;
- formation of priority areas of research activities of the university, creation of interdisciplinary research groups in collaboration with domestic and foreign partners;
- organization and support of fundamental and applied research implemented within the framework of mega-grants, grant program-targeted financing (PTF), grant financing of young scientists, commercialization of RSNTD;
- organization of scientific and technical cooperation with local executive bodies, research institutes, industrial enterprises, the private sector and commercial organizations to identify and jointly solve current scientific and technical problems and actively implement university developments into production;
- assistance in building human resources and forming a critical mass of scientists, retaining postdoctoral students and increasing the influx of young promising scientific personnel;
- ensuring the modernization of scientific and innovative infrastructure and the creation of an experimental, development and design base of the university based on modern equipment;
- support for the legal protection and commercial sale of intellectual property objects created as a result of the scientific and technical activities of the university’s departments and employees;
- promotion of scientific and technical achievements of research groups, individual scientists, students.
