The Higher IT College of the EKTU has a debating club «Cicero», which is aimed at organizing and developing a mass intellectual movement among students, contributing to the development of tolerance, oratory and leadership qualities of students.
The purpose of the debate club: Development of critical thinking and speech skills of students. Raising a sense of patriotism and love for the Motherland. Awakening interest in the problems of youth and the search for their solutions.
Tasks:
- implementation of measures aimed at spiritual and moral and civil - patriotic education with a high consciousness;
- development of interest in social and socio-political processes taking place in society;
- formation of legal culture of youth;
- education of tolerance and civic consciousness;
- work to improve legal literacy.
The head of the debate club «Cicero» is a teacher of history Zhadygerov Shyngys Aslanovich.
The meetings of the club are held according to the established plan, everyone who wants to college can become a member of the debate club.
On October 29, 2022, the Education Department of the East Kazakhstan region and Ust-Kamenogorsk Higher Medical College held a discussion training "One step into a New Kazakhstan" among students of educational institutions of the technical and vocational education system of East Kazakhstan Region.
120 college students and heads of debate clubs from Ust-Kamenogorsk, Ridder, Altai and Kurchum, Katon-Karagai, Samar, Ulan districts took part in the event. Training and discussion games were held at three platforms and aroused the interest of the debate participants. Our students were awarded certificates of participation.
С 27 по 28 января 2023 года в Усть-Каменогорском в Высшем политехническом колледже прошел областной дебатный турнир «Ата-баба жолы, ел бірлігі» посвященный 70-летию колледжа и 355-летию со дня рождения Бухар жырау.
В обстановке дружеского соревнования состязались в красноречии дебатеры колледжей ВКО, 16 команд, 32 участника. Из Высшего IT-колледжа ВКТУ им. Д. Серикбаева участвовали Қамалбеков Ануар Ермекұлы из группы 21-ТО-1к и Тасқын Айбол из группы 22-ТО-2 к.
Учащиеся Высшего IT-колледжа ВКТУ им. Д. Серикбаева 27 января показали отличный результат войдя в альфа-лигу турнира. К сожалению, 28 января, в обстановке напряженного противостояния они взяли на балл меньше своих оппонентов, тем самым выбыв из гонки альфа-лиги.
Организаторы дебатного турнира были впечатлены навыками и способностями студентов IT-колледжа, особо отметили их участие и заявили, что хотят в будущем видеть на каждом подобном мероприятии.
