Student Scientific and Technical Club "AQUA"

АКВАThe student scientific and technical circle (SSTC) "AQUA" was organized in 2002 at the department "Rational use of the air-water basin and heat and gas supply" on the basis of the specialties "Water supply, drainage and water resources protection" and "Heat and gas supply, ventilation and air basin protection."

The mission of the student research circle is:

  • training of practice-oriented highly qualified specialists in the field of water management;
  • activation of the student’s cognitive activity, increasing independence, the formation of the necessary personal qualities.

Directions of work of the circle:

  • Hydroresources - integrated water resources management;
  • Water supply and sanitation facilities - industrial, agricultural and urban;
  • Housing and utilities - engineering systems and networks of buildings and structures.

Members of the scientific and technical circle participate:

  • in the performance of work commissioned by university departments, administration;
  • in carrying out work under contracts with organizations under the guidance of teachers;
  • in summer schools of the Kazakh-German University with English as the language of instruction devoted to environmental problems or technologies with the aim of gaining knowledge and experience in an international environment;
  • in scientific and applied contests, environmental projects and conferences.

The feature of the circle is:

  •  interdisciplinary nature, which encourages students to integrate classes and emphasizes the universal nature of research activities.

The implementation of the program is carried out:

  •  on the basis of interdisciplinary connections, so in 1-2 courses students study not only the disciplines of the humanities and social cycles, the mathematical and natural sciences, but also special disciplines.

SSTC participants: students of the bachelor's program in Water Resources and Water Use, Water Supply and Sewerage, Engineering Systems and Networks, and Masters in Water Supply and Sewerage, as well as students of other educational programs.
