This laboratory develops professional competences - the study of the material composition of rocks and ores to establish formation patterns and determine further prospecting and exploration techniques, the safe and effective application of rock removal, delivery and extraction skills, and actions in emergency situations in underground conditions.
Laboratory Goals:
- research of mineral resources of the Greater Altai;
- geotechnological mapping and application of geotechnological methods of mineral deposit development;
Laboratory objectives:
- Conducting practical and laboratory classes in EP “Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits”, “Mining”;
- Study of physical composition and technological properties of fastening materials for mining operations;
- Study of technological properties of ores and rocks;
- Development of new technologies for mining ore deposits.
The laboratory is equipped with the following equipment:
- binocular microscope (2 pcs.);
- polarizing microscope;
- electronic scales (3 pcs.);
- e-Trex 10 GPS navigator;
- camera with lenses;
- instrument for rapid determination of cement activation;
- pendulum hardness tester;
- texture analyser.
