M. Mashimov’s Laboratory of Engineering Geodesy and Cartography established to provide students with practical skills in geodetic surveying and cartographic support for various production facilities.
Professional competencies are formed in the laboratory:
- Ability to apply modern methods and ways of geodetic works in geodetic and surveying support of economic objects with the use of modern technologies and software;
- Ability to use the knowledge of modern geographical and information systems, methods of obtaining, preparation and maintenance of graphic, aerospace, photogrammetric and other information at modern level;
- The ability to professionally operate modern surveying equipment and specialised software;
- Ability to provide navigational support of agricultural works, local application of fertilizers and plant protection agents.
Purpose: To develop students' competences in geodetic and cartographic support for production facilities, and to train high quality professionals.
Objectives:
- laboratory, practical training;
- engineering and geodesic works; development of cartographic works (maps, atlases, guides).
The laboratory is equipped with geodetic equipment and educational cartographic material for studying the basics of mapping, constructing thematic maps and studying the devices of geodetic instruments.
