The research work of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship includes the following directions:
- grant work performed by the School's teaching staff, seminars and consulting services within the framework of contract work;
- financial and economic substantiation of national innovative projects;
- organization and holding of University scientific contests, conferences, seminars and Olympiads;
- participation of SoBaE students in research work carried out by the University;
- preparation of co-student papers.

SoBaE lectrurers undergo scientific foreign internships, actively participate in international economic congresses. Research materials are presented at international scientific-practical and scientific-methodical conferences.
The School of Business and Entrepreneurship teaching staff annually passes professional development within the framework of IT-competencies, in the sphere of management, entrepreneurship and finance, language competences.
The training and consulting center "ECONOM" was organized on the basis of the subdivision to provide paid educational and consulting services to students, entrepreneurs, and other interested parties.
In November 2014, a bilateral "Agreement on the implementation of educational Master's programs in the network form within the SCO University" was concluded between EKTU and "Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys" National Research University. According to the Master’s academic program "Economics of Innovation", the training at EKTU is one academic year and at MISIS (Moscow) – one academic year, upon completion of training two diplomas are issued.»
