Research laboratory «Demographic processes of Altai» works within the subddepartment. It works in cooperation with International Coordination Council «Our general house Altai» and analyses demographic processes in Kazakhstan Altay territory, Blue-Tszjansky Uigur autonomous region PRC (People's Republic of China), Bayan-Ulgisky and Hovdovsky aymaks (Mongolia).
The laboratory is aimed at studying the population of Altay in cooperation with scientists of D. Serikbayev EKSTU, Institute of Oriental studies of National Academy of sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Altay state University (Barnaul, the Russian Federation), Altay state University in Mongolia.
The lecturers attended International seminars devoted to improvement of qualitative teaching methods and collaborated with scientists from different countries: University of Wyoming( the USA), Leiden University( the Netherlands) and other researchers from Kirgizstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. R.K.Aidarbayeva won the Best University lecturer contest. Teachers of the department liaises with the leading print media of the University and Republic.

There is a signed Agreement on scientific cooperation between the Institute of History of the State, Committee of science MES, and D.Serikbaev EKSTU, and a center of study of the history of the independent Kazakhstan.
Scientists annually participate in international conferences of CIS countries held in Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Khabarovsk, Semey, and others.
The department annually participates in a n international conference on Demographic Processes in Kazakhstan and Adjacent Areas.
