(3 years of study)
D104 Number of the educational program group

Before applying to Doctoral program, it is mandatory to have a certificate confirming proficiency in a foreign language and an official certificate of passing the state language exam (KAZTEST) issued by the NTC. Applicants should write an essay and a test to determine their readiness for doctoral studies. The examination in the specialties of postgraduate education includes disciplines of the mandatory component of the cycle of basic and core disciplines of the professional master's degree curriculum:

1 discipline - Methodology of scientific research

2 discipline - Operation and maintenance of transport equipment

The educational program 8D07104 "Transport, transport machinery and technologies" is designed to train highly qualified personnel who are able to conduct research and teaching work, independently set and solve current scientific problems, adequately perceive modern scientific and technical achievements in the field of transport and related industries, as well as make their own contribution to science and practice. During the training period, conditions are created for the formation of professional competencies and personal qualities of competitive, creative and innovative-minded people who are able to realize their knowledge and skills in the field of scientific research, in the field of design, manufacture and operation of transport equipment and technologies, including research activities, knowledge about current trends in the development of scientific knowledge in the field of design, manufacture and operation of transport equipment. Upon completion of the doctoral program, the student owns:

  • knowledge, skills and practical skills of independent research and solving problems of efficiency of transport equipment, as well as being able to transfer their knowledge and skills in the training of young professionals;
  • Research and teaching skills.

During the educational process, the following significant competencies are formed:

  • The ability to independently formulate hypotheses of a theoretical and empirical nature to solve research problems, as well as to present the results of scientific research in the form of publications and speeches in an academic, expert and professional environment.
  • The ability to carry out cultural and speech communication and training using modern communication tools and technologies
  • The ability to evaluate processes and phenomena based on a holistic systematic scientific worldview
  • The ability to investigate the performance of transport equipment, to ensure the wear resistance of the working surfaces of their parts
  • The ability to explore technical systems in cars, apply high-tech technologies in them
  • The ability to experimentally evaluate the properties of research objects, plan and conduct a scientific experiment, ensure the accuracy and reliability of the results of an experimental study

Graduates of EP 8D07104 "Transport, transport equipment and technologies" can hold the position of head of research laboratory/ of scientific center/ of  technopark, head of  department / management / committee, junior / senior / leading / chief researcher, senior lecturer / associate professor / professor.

The objects of professional activity of graduates are enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan of all forms of ownership, as well as educational institutions and research laboratories.

For training focused on the formation of professional competencies, a modern innovative laboratory "Lu Ban Workshop" has been created, which can already train qualified specialists in the field of engineering practice, transport equipment and technologies, as well as to work with more environmentally friendly hybrid cars and electric vehicles.

Luban Workshop ("Lu Ban Workshop") – includes 2 sectors:

  • The sector of fuel, hybrid and electric car service technologies is located in a separate building, a complex of educational laboratory equipment, includes the latest models of cars with an internal combustion engine, hybrid power plant and electric vehicle, as well as training platforms for studying the device, diagnostics and technical service of these cars, their units and systems.
  • The SMART car technology sector includes a set of equipment that implements SMART technologies and artificial intelligence elements in automotive structures to ensure the active safety of cars and their autonomous driving.

In addition, in the field of Transport, transport machinery and technologies, there is a Scientific and Production Center for certification testing of automotive fuels and oils. It includes a complex of equipment for gasoline, diesel fuels and lubricants testing in "SPC "SATiM".

Currently, classes in special disciplines of the educational program are conducted by 1 doctor of science, 2 candidates of science. Doctoral students are actively engaged in research activities.
During implementation of educational program, it is mandatory to involve students in research work. The results of scientific research are regularly published in publications of national and international importance.

Doctoral students perform mandatory internships abroad at universities with a high international rating. In addition, they participate in international scientific conferences presenting results of their dissertation research reports.

After graduation, the student is awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the educational program "8D07104 Transport, transport equipment and technologies".

A number of foreign scientists have been involved in conducting classes and scientific consultations for doctoral students. The full-time professor Kot Marcin Adam - Doctor PhD Habil. Eng. professor at AGH University of Krakow is teaching at the International School of Engineering (direction Transport, Transport Machinery and Technology).
