Undergraduate Project
Description: General theoretical and practical aspects of the design of architectural and urban planning objects on the topic of the graduation project in specific conditions for a real situation with a different functional and planning structure. The discipline includes two sections - research and design, revealing the author's concept of the draft concept of an architectural object and is aimed at determining the student's readiness for independent creative work on a graduation project.

Cycle: Profiling disciplines
Goal
- to determine the readiness of a student for independent creative work on a graduation project, expressed in the form of a graphic and layout architectural concept.
Objective
- to master a full-scale survey of the place of the proposed location of the object with photographic fixation of characteristic features;
- to master the historical and genetic analysis aimed at identifying continuity and identifying the development of the object;
- to form a design and search solution focused on the development of a design concept for a real situation on the topic of a graduation project;
- define the structure of the object at the model level.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
- perform an alternative search for options for architectural and planning solutions for an object on the topic of graduation design;
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
- apply a systematic approach to the social and functional organization of the object;
Learning outcome: formation of judgments
- to systematize architectural and planning techniques and tools on the subject of design;
- solve and analyze project tasks
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
- justify design decisions with reason;
Learning outcome: learning skills or learning abilities
- develop an architectural and planning solution for a design object based on a pre-project analysis, a socio-functional program, typological features, regulatory requirements and an environmental approach.
Teaching methods
introductions, talks, slides and visual aids;
natural survey of the territory;
independent research of students in the learning process;
solving educational problems.
Assessment of the student's knowledge
Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.

Creative Examination - Clauzura | The work was completed in accordance with the assignment. The topic of the assignment is covered deeply and completely. The elements of the clause are arranged compositionally correctly, logically and consistently. The stylistic unity of graphic techniques, images and explanatory text is fully maintained. The aesthetics of the design of the work is at a high level. The degree of completion of tasks is from 90 to 100%. | The work was completed in accordance with the assignment. Evaluation form
The student's final grade in the course is calculated on a 100 point grading scale, it includes:
- 40% of the examination result;
- 60% of current control result.
The final grade is calculated by the formula:
FG = 0,6 | MT1+MT2 | +0,4E |
2 |
Where Midterm 1, Midterm 2are digital equivalents of the grades of Midterm 1 and 2;
E is a digital equivalent of the exam grade.
Final alphabetical grade and its equivalent in points:
The letter grading system for students' academic achievements, corresponding to the numerical equivalent on a four-point scale:
