Goal
- The purpose of teaching the discipline "Winter maintenance of highways" is the formation of professional training of students in the field of maintenance of highways in winter.
Objective
- To know the basics of the theory of blizzards, methods of designing roads to reduce snow load, methods of protection from snow drifts and avalanches, methods of clearing roads from snow, the basics of combating slipperiness and ice. To familiarize with the organization and economics of winter maintenance of highways.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
- Knowledge of the main provisions, regularities, tasks of winter maintenance of transport infrastructure facilities and snow fighting and anti-slip technology and understanding of the essence (main factors) of the implementation of such processes;
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
- Application of knowledge and understanding in practice in the direct implementation of snow removal processes, be able to choose and apply optimal and effective methods and methods of organizational and technological support of transport infrastructure facilities and modern methods of winter road maintenance;
Learning outcome: formation of judgments
- knowledge of feasibility studies of design solutions when familiarizing with the elements of highways; - performing organizational and planning calculations in the field of construction, i.e. organization or reconstruction of production sites during snow protection and cleaning of highways; - planning the work of personnel and payroll in transport construction, the use of technological means.
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
- Perform design and commissioning works and development of design and technological documentation in accordance with standards, technical specifications and other dosage documents using automated design tools. - implementation of communicative integration in terms of introducing innovations in the work on snow removal of transport facilities, combining practice with the theory of new technologies.
Learning outcome: learning skills or learning abilities
- Acquisition of information, analysis of information, the use of new teaching methods, expansion of professional activity and scope of use, to gain an understanding of the purpose of this discipline and the need to expand this knowledge in this branch of winter maintenance of the highway.
