Goal
  • The purpose of teaching the discipline "Operation of highways" is the formation of professional training of students in the field of operation of highways and the organization of traffic on highways. To know the theoretical foundations of the operation of highways, the organization and technology of maintenance and repair of roads, the acquisition of practical skills to assess the transport and operational condition of roads.
Objective
  • study of the theoretical justification of decisions taken on the maintenance and repair of highways выработать develop skills in the application of basic methods and technologies for the maintenance and repair of highways;  study of materials and mechanisms used for the repair and maintenance of highways, as well as measures to improve road safety.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
  • The ability to master the new equipment being introduced, to check the technical condition and residual life of the existing technological equipment and structures of construction and installation facilities, if necessary, to provide repair and restoration work at the production sites of the enterprise.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
  • Promptly adapt the theoretical knowledge gained as a result of studying the discipline in professional activity; the ability to find organizational and managerial solutions in production situations.
Learning outcome: formation of judgments
  • The ability to conduct a feasibility study of design solutions, perform organizational and planning calculations for the creation or reorganization of production sites, plan the work of personnel and payroll funds, apply progressive methods of operation of technological equipment.
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
  • Develop the communication skills necessary to work in a group;  choose the direction of innovative achievements of science, technology and technology.
Learning outcome: learning skills or learning abilities
  • The ability to participate in work on innovative projects using basic research methods based on the systematic study of scientific and technical information, domestic and foreign experience, conducting patent research.
Teaching methods

Traditional technologies are provided for teaching the discipline: classroom classes and independent work of students. The lecture course is presented in multimedia form. When presenting the lecture material at the beginning and at the end of the lecture, motivational speech is used. The lecture-presentation uses text, audio and video information, graphs, tables, etc. For independent work, students are offered topics.

Assessment of the student's knowledge

Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.

Evaluation form

The student's final grade in the course is calculated on a 100 point grading scale, it includes:

  • 40% of the examination result;
  • 60% of current control result.

The final grade is calculated by the formula:

FG = 0,6 MT1+MT2 +0,4E

Where Midterm 1, Midterm 2are digital equivalents of the grades of Midterm 1 and 2;

E is a digital equivalent of the exam grade.
