Description: The main units of technical regulation are the study of legal regulation of relations in the field of establishment, application and enforcement of mandatory requirements for products or for products and related processes of design (including research), manufacturing, construction, installation, adjustment, operation, storage, transportation, sale and disposal, as well as in the field of conformity assessment. Foreign experience in this area is considered.

Goal
  • To provide students with general principles, methods and procedures in the field of technical regulation, to prepare the student to solve professional tasks to achieve quality and efficiency of work by using methods to ensure uniformity of measurement, standardisation, and confirmation of properties and characteristics by certification for compliance with national and international norms.
Objective
  • To provide the students with the necessary theoretical and practical skills that will enable them to - Analyse processes, define stages, apply methods and implement technical regulation in practice; - Develop normative documents, technical regulation strategies in accordance with normative documents; - Implement technical regulation in the management process at the firm applying the requirements of normative documents.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
  • Students should know: - normative and methodological support for technical regulation; - the system of state supervision, system of state supervision, interdepartmental and departmental control of technical regulations.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
  • - on the composition of the technical regulation under which the safe operation of the facilities is ensured; - the main directions of creating safety conditions provided for in the development of technological processes; - on the provision of progressive solutions to issues of occupational health and safety documentation; - in the use of methods and principles of technical regulation in the development of standards and other regulatory documents.
Learning outcome: formation of judgments
  • The ability to independently apply methods and means of learning, teaching and self-control, to realise the prospects of intellectual, cultural, moral, physical and professional self-development and self-improvement, to be able to critically assess one's strengths and weaknesses. Understand the issues of technical regulation industrial safety.

  • The ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team, demonstrating skills in leading individual teams, including interdisciplinary projects, personal responsibility, commitment to professional ethics and standards of professional practice.

  • Communicate in a professional environment and in society at large, including in a foreign language; analyse existing and independently develop technical documentation; clearly present and defend the results of complex engineering activities in the field of automation and control.
Teaching methods

The following educational technologies shall be used in training sessions: - interactive lecture (application of the following active forms of learning: guided (guided) discussion or conversation; moderation; demonstration of slides or educational films; brainstorming; motivational speech); - construction of scenarios of various situations based on given conditions; - information and communication (for example, lessons in a computer lab using professional application software packages); - research and exploration (independent research activity of students in the learning process); - solution of educational tasks.
