Water-Removing, Ventilating & Pneumatic Facilities
Description: The discipline studies the design, installation and maintenance of drainage, ventilation and pneumatics systems. During the course, students study the principles of operation of these systems, their main components and devices, as well as methods of calculation and selection of equipment. The features of installation and operation of these installations are also considered, taking into account modern technologies and safety standards. The course is designed to prepare specialists in the field of engineering communications and provide them with the necessary knowledge for successful professional activity.

Goal
- The goal is to form a system of scientific and professional knowledge and skills in students in the field of mining mechanics, namely, equipment and installations that ensure the life of a mine (mine) for the entire period of its (its) operation.
Objective
- The main objectives of the study of the discipline are: - the creation of students' theoretical foundations in the field of HE and PU; - obtaining knowledge about the designs of existing types of turbomachines and their technical and economic characteristics; - ability to calculate and select the equipment of the main fan installation; - the ability to calculate and select the equipment of the local ventilation fan installation; - ability to calculate and choose equipment for a drainage installation; - determination of parameters of pipelines of pumps; - determination of the main parameters of pneumatic installations.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
- Knowledge and understanding of: - theoretical foundations in the field of drainage, fan and pneumatic installations; - designs of existing types of turbomachines and their technical and economic characteristics; - to calculate and select the equipment of the main fan installation; - calculate and select the equipment of the local ventilation fan installation; - calculate and select the equipment of the drainage installation; - determination of parameters of pipelines of pumps; - determination of the main parameters of pneumatic installations.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
- Application of knowledge and understanding: - be able to calculate the drainage, fan and pneumatic installation; - choose a rational mode of operation and drive installations; - critically assess the performance of existing installations in terms of reliability and efficiency of operation; - operate drainage, fan and pneumatic installations in accordance with the Safety Rules
Learning outcome: formation of judgments
- Forming judgments: are able to integrate knowledge and deal with complex issues and form judgments based on incomplete or limited information on the application or development of new designs of dewatering, fan and pneumatic installations, taking into account the social and ethical responsibility associated with the use of their knowledge and judgment.
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
- Communication: can communicate their conclusions and the knowledge and rationale used to formulate them on the operation of existing and the development of new designs of drainage, fan and pneumatic installations to specialists and non-specialists clearly and consistently.
Learning outcome: learning skills or learning abilities
- Learning skills: be able to determine the operating modes of fan, drainage and pneumatic installations for external networks of mines (mines) associated with a particular turbomachine. Be able to select equipment and design dewatering, fan and pneumatic installations of mines
