Web-mapping
Description: The discipline covers the basics of creating and using interactive maps on the Internet. Students study methods of collecting, processing and visualizing geodata using modern web technologies. The course includes the study of GIS, programming languages (JavaScript, Python) and libraries (Leaflet, OpenLayers). Practical training helps to master the skills of creating dynamic maps and geoinformation systems.

Goal
- To provide students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in the field of web mapping, to teach them how to create, analyze and visualize geographical data in a web environment. During the course, students will learn how to use tools and technologies to develop interactive maps and geospatial applications, as well as understand the principles of web cartography and its application in various fields.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
- - Knowledge of the basics of geoinformation technologies and web cartography. - Understanding the principles of working with spatial data, including data collection, processing and visualization. - Understanding the architecture of web mapping applications and standards for sharing geodata on the Internet.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
- - The ability to apply knowledge on the development and configuration of web mapping applications. - API skills for creating and integrating interactive maps into web applications. - The ability to use data visualization technologies such as Leaflet, Mapbox and other mapping libraries.
Learning outcome: formation of judgments
- - The ability to evaluate and select suitable tools and methods for web mapping, depending on the tasks and the target audience. - The ability to critically assess the accuracy and relevance of geodata. - The ability to analyze different mapping approaches and identify their advantages and limitations.
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
- Skills in presenting and explaining cartographic projects and web mapping results. The ability to effectively interact in a team on projects related to the creation of web maps and geoinformation applications. The ability to communicate complex technical aspects of web mapping to non-specialists.
Learning outcome: learning skills or learning abilities
- The ability to independently find and analyze information about new web mapping tools and technologies. The ability to further study in the field of geoinformation systems and web technologies. Skills of adaptation to rapidly developing technologies in the field of web mapping and their implementation in projects.
