Emergencies of natural and technogenic nature
Description: The discipline is focused on the development of professional competence of students through the formation of a safe type of thinking and health-saving behavior; dangerous situations of natural and man-made nature and protection from them and the disclosure of a system of knowledge about the power of nature and its natural manifestations that cause emergencies: disasters, destruction, loss of life, natural phenomena in the country and abroad.

Goal
- The main purpose of the discipline is to give students a system of knowledge, to reveal the forces of nature, natural manifestations that cause emergencies: disasters, destruction, loss of life. The essence of the necessary knowledge about possible natural phenomena in the country and abroad, their features, rules of conduct and a measure of protection.
Objective
- The task of studying the discipline "Natural and man-made emergencies" is to gain knowledge about: - dangerous and emergency situations of the environment of natural, man-made and social origin; - organization of protection of the population and territories in peacetime and wartime; - legal, regulatory, technical and organizational bases of life safety.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
- Must possess: - basic methods of individual and collective protection of life and health in natural disasters and must demonstrate the ability and willingness to: - willingness to implement educational programs in subjects in accordance with the requirements of educational standards - - possess psychological, pedagogical, medical, biological, organizational and managerial knowledge and skills necessary for teaching the basics of safe behavior and improving physical and mental qualities of safe life

- Have the ability to use first aid techniques, methods of protection in emergency situations

- The discipline "Natural and man-made emergencies" is designed to form students' conscious and responsible attitude to ersonal safety issues, acquire knowledge and skills to see and assess dangerous situations, as well as harmful factors of the human environment, determine ways to protect against them, as well as eliminate negative consequences and provide self- and utual assistance. Due to the specifics of its focus, this iscipline is imed at students acquiring knowledge and skills of a number of physical and psychological qualities necessary for adaptation to modern living conditions.

Teaching methods
Contextual learning technology – learning in the context of a profession (implemented in training tasks that take into account the specifics of the direction and profile of training). Interactive learning technology (implemented in the form of learning tasks involving the interaction of students, the use of active feedback forms). E-learning technology (implemented with the help of the electronic educational environment of EKTU when using the resources of the electronic library system, during automated testing).
