Photovoltaics
Description: The purpose of this course is to educate master students in the design and applications of solar energy engineering. This course is designed for graduate students who have some background in electrical engineering and/or physics. The course will cover the fundamentals of solar energy conversion, photovoltaic and energy storage, and distribution systems. Although the majority of the course will be on the physics of semiconductors and solar cells, the course will also cover basic aspects of solar energy insolation and global energy needs, current trends in solar plants, thin film solar cells, and solar cell material science. The course also includes a description of basic manufacturing processes for the production of solar panels.
