Geoinformation systems in the processing of seismological data and risk assessment

Denisov Igor Viktorovich

The instructor profile

Description: The course focuses on the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for analyzing and processing data related to seismic activity. Students learn methods for collecting, storing, processing, and visualizing seismological data using GIS tools. The course also covers techniques for modeling seismic risks and assessing the impact of earthquakes on various structures and regions. Special attention is given to the development of maps and models that help predict areas of increased seismic risk and support decision-making to mitigate the consequences of earthquakes. Additionally, the course fosters the development of scientific research skills.
