In 1958 - graduated from the Rostov-on-Don State University, specialty - engineer-geologist-prospector.

In 1969 - defended his thesis. Speciality "Metallogeny".

In 1987 - defended his doctoral dissertation. Speciality "The geology, prospecting and exploration of solid minerals, Metallogeny".

1958-1977 years. - Worked in the system of East Kazakhstan geological management (Ust-Kamenogorsk), held the positions of a geologist, senior geologist of the Geological Department EKSU and Chief Geologist of Ust-Kamenogorsk prospecting expedition, engaged in geological survey of scale 1: 50000, search and evaluation of gold and rare metal deposits of the Eastern Kazakhstan.

Since 1977 - on the contest moved to work in the Altai department of Institute of geological sciences. He was the scientific director of major projects on the geology and metallogeny of the Big Altai.

Since 1992 - present time - he started working in RCI, now D.Serikbaev EKSTU. Involved in the preparation of bachelors, masters and doctoral students in the specialty "Geology and exploration of mineral deposits." I am the head of the state budget to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 1994 y.- elected Professor HAC - "Geology and Mineralogy".

In 1996 y.- elected a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences.

In 1996 y.- elected as Academician of the Academy of Mineral Resources of RK.

In 2003 y.- elected as Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2010 y.- elected as a member of the National Academy of Natural Sciences of Russia.

Actively participated in international congresses, meetings and conferences. Including:

IGC 32 - International Geological Congress in Italy, IGC -33 - International Geological Congress in Norway, IGC -34 - International Geological Congress in Australia. And also in international conferences in France, Canada, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Tashkent, Perm and others.

For scientific achievements on the regional geology, geology of ore deposits, metallogenic and forecast of mineral deposits he was elected Academician of the National Academy of Sciences, then an academician of the Academy of Mineral Resources, and Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

I’m a leader of a Kazakhstan group of geologists, "International Association of Genesis of Ore Deposits" (UK).
