Uses: Transparent augites containing dendritic patterns are used as gems and ornamental stones known as shajar in parts of India.

Deposits: Augite Mine located in the Urals, the Kola Peninsula, Kamchatka, Siberia, Magadan, Yakutia and Karelia.
