DAAD (the German Agency for academic exchange) annually supports the organization of Summer Schools DAAD for students from German universities in the countries of Eastern Europe, CIS and the Baltic.

On the 31st of January of the current year the organization has published a list of the universities whose applications to host the Summer Schools DAAD for 2017 has been selected and approved.

Every year, the selection of candidates to universities takes place in a very strict and objective format. Application of some Eastern European countries was not supported at all.

This year among the countries of Central Asia Kazakhstan was selected. And among universities of Kazakhstan only  D. Serikbayev  EKSTU was awarded the right to host the DAAD Summer School on the theme: "Energy of the future: the Chances for Kazakh energy efficient industry through EXPO 2017".
