On April 13, the Business and Entrepreneurship School hosted events within the framework of the «Week of Science» in which invited professors from partner universities, teachers, students and undergraduates of the school took part. The main purpose of the events was to increase the interest of young scientists, undergraduates and students in conducting scientific research, as well as to encourage them to participate in research activities, various scientific conferences and forums.
In order to study topical issues of introducing «green economy» in the post-Soviet space; analysis of the stages and results of the «Concept for the transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to a "green economy"» implementation; to identify the prospects for green financing and green energy as a basis for business development, a round table was held online and offline on the topic «Actual problems of implementing the principles of green economy in the post-Soviet space».
The round table was attended by: representatives of the Private educational institution of higher education « S.Yu. Witte Moscow University», universities of the East Kazakhstan region, experts in various fields of economics, ecology, undergraduates and students of the EKTU.
The round table was opened by the dean of the Business and Entrepreneurship School Zakimova A.M., she spoke about the main scientific projects of the school, about the green economy week at the university, and the planned events within this week.
Varavin E.V., professor of the school, demonstrated the main results on the implementation of the «Concept for the transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to a "green economy"», on the relevance of the ESG agenda, topical issues in the development of the green financing market, and the prospects for investment in energy-efficient production technologies.
Deputy Vice-Rector for Research of the Private educational institution of higher education «S.Yu. Witte Moscow University» Luzhikova Elizaveta Alexandrovna in her speech considered the key role of the "green economy" in the transition from the raw material export model to sustainable development, in improving the quality of life of the population and Russia's competitiveness in the world market. To what extent is Russia today ready to transfer production to «green technologies»?
During the discussion of the transition problems to a «green economy» at the round table, the electricity supply of the republic was considered. The participants noted that it is necessary to increase the energy and environmental efficiency of the region's economy, to ensure the rational use of all types of resources.
At the end of the round table, the participants discussed the prospects for introducing the principles of «green economy», green financing, green energy.
The teaching staff of the school, young scientists, undergraduates and students took part in the meeting of the section «Economic and managerial problems of the innovative development of society» of the annual conference «Creativity of the young innovative development of Kazakhstan», dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the university. The section was held in a creative, friendly atmosphere, the participants of the section had the opportunity to get acquainted with modern experience, topical, theoretical and practical problems in the economy and enterprise management.
