In EKSTU on the eve of the First President Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan has passed series of celebrations dedicated to this event. In the Column Hall of the University was opened the exhibition "Astana - Elbasynyn erlіgі", where were presented models of modern architectural constructions of Astana and Ust-Kamenogorsk, these models were constructed by students of Architecture and Civil Engineering Faculty of EKSTU. Also was organized a book exhibition dedicated to the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Nursultan Nazarbayev and its invaluable contribution to the construction and creation of independent Kazakhstan.

During this celebration "Day of the President" was the ceremonial presentation of certificates to students - holders of scholarships of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as other scholarships. In addition, the Rector of the University Nurlan Temirbecov presented awards to the winners of the annual contest "Best Innovative Project" "Innovation - 2014 ". The main prize - "Gold Gryphon" for first place in the contest was awarded the Master of Agricultural Sciences - Sergey Lutay for the innovative project "Development of nano- biocomposites for seeds encrustation."

Diploma and medal "Gold Gryphon" for the best innovative project "Modernization of the equipment for clearing snow and ice layers bodies from roads and sidewalks" was awarded undergraduate students of EKSTU - Alina Kim. "Bronze Gryphon" for the best innovative project "Development of equipment for cutting of man-made waste (exhaust ropes) for the production of steel fibers," was awarded undergraduate student - Didar Kasym.
