In the East Kazakhstan region Victory Day is celebrated in every village. The 72nd anniversary of the Great Victory was met by 330 soldiers and about 25,000 back workers.

Those who could, went on the 9th of May to the streets of our city.  At 10 o'clock in the morning the action «Қаһарман ұлт – The Marsh of the Immortals" started. On the embankment of the Irtysh from the River Station and to the Memorial of Glory, over 10 thousand people passed with portraits of relatives and friends who fought and died in the Great Patriotic War. The column was attended by more than 500 students and officers of the military department of the D.Serikbayev EKSTU. The main event took place at the Memorial of Glory, where the participants of the procession laid flowers to the Eternal Flame and honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence. Here the concert program "And the saved world remembers!" took place.
