On March 5, 2018, Nursultan Nazarbayev at the joint session of the Chambers of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced "Five Social Initiatives of the President". The first initiative "New opportunities to purchase housing for each family." This initiative is aimed at increasing the availability of housing for Kazakhstan citizens. In this context, not only increase the construction of new housing, but also increase the availability of housing mortgages for the masses. In the second initiative "Reducing the tax burden to increase the wages of low-paid workers", it is proposed to reduce the tax burden from Kazakhstani employees by 10 times - up to 1%. The third initiative "Increasing the accessibility and quality of higher education and improving the living conditions of students." Here, measures are proposed to improve the access and quality of higher education. In particular in the 2018-2019 academic year, the allocation of an additional 20 thousand grants. Of these, 11 thousand - for training bachelors in technical specialties. In the context of this initiative, it is proposed to increase the number of student hostels. In the fourth initiative, "Expanding Microcredit", it is proposed to increase the number of concessional microcredits (an additional 20 billion KZT in 2018). According to the fifth initiative, "Further gasification of the country", it is planned to gasify the central and northern regions of the country, as well as the implementation of the project to build the gas pipeline along the route Karaozek-Zhezkazgan-Karaganda-Temirtau-Astana. Due to the five presidential initiatives, Kazakhstan’s citizens will have a new opportunity to plan the future, improve their well-being. New social initiatives are a step towards building a realistic, pragmatic Kazakhstan model of the social state and national well-being.
