October 3, 2012 the Department of Mathematical and Computer Modeling of EKSTU along with the Center of Pre-university arranged a workshop for the computer science schools teachers of East Kazakhstan Region.
The seminar was attended by more than 30 teachers, not only from the regional center, the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, but also from Semey, Zyryanovsk, Ayagoz, Caton Karagai, Kokpekty, Zharma.
At the workshop, the issues of preparations to the Unified National Testing, the distance learning, the development of scientific projects were discussed.
Krykpaeva Aklima, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Power Engineer made an opening speech of the workshop. She noted that the faculty and the university pay great attention to the quality of education, there fore graduates are in demand in the labor market. Many of them are employed in large industrial enterprises of the Region.
Manasheva Venera, head of pre-university training described in detail the methodology of distance education, her presentation was she accompanied by the video about EKSTU. Kolpakova Valentina, secretary of the selection committee of the university recounted for applicants for the preparation of the documents and the rules of admission to university.
Heads of departments of information systems, Denisova Natalya, and mathematical and computer modeling, Rahmetullina Saule, also attended the workshop and shared interesting information about programs and offered the teacher to cooperate in the field of research projects of school pupils.
During the seminar, a survey of teachers was conducted. The aim of the survey was to identify the most relevant topics in computer science, to be considered at the training workshops that are planned to be arranged in the future for the teacher.
After the workshop the guests were invited to a tour across the geological museum, laboratory, Technopark "Altai".
Teachers expressed a strong desire to make a tour across the university together with their students.
