Today is the 4-th of January, 2019 – Boris V. Syrnev’s 75-th anniversary, he is Doctor of technical sciences, professor of International Technology Postgraduate School Oskemen.

Boris Syrnev graduated Chelyabinsk polytechnic institute in 1967 and then was deployed to Kazakhstan at  the enterprise of Soviet Union's Ministry of Medium Machine-Building Industry (nuclear industry). His professional activity began in central scientific-research laboratory first, as a research engineer and then as head of research team that was engaged in physics of metals and powder metallurgy of beryllium. In 1988 he was transferred into scientific-research and project-design institute «Izumrud» for development of technology and special-purpose equipment intended for beryllium production.

While Boris Syrnev worked in one of the top branches of nuclear industry he was engaged in development of new technologies and materials out of beryllium for the needs of nuclear reactor industry and aero-space technology, for special instrument making industry and special weapons. Besides, he worked in research teams and participated in invention of new grades of beryllium and alloys, as well as in development of production technology for large-sized beryllium workpieces for power and information optics, technology for hot isostatic pressing of beryllium powders for production of beryllium isotropic grade for gyrounits, and some other technologies for production of beryllium semiproducts.

In 1976 Boris Vladimirovich was awarded the title of prize winner of USSR Leninsky Komsomol in the sphere of science for development of new technological processes of beryllium production, its alloys and compounds. The obtained results became the basis for his Candidate's dissertation that he successfully defended in 1978.

In 1996 Boris Syrnev began to work as a professor in D.Serikbaev East-Kazakhstan state technical university at sub-department «Chemistry, metallurgy and ore dressing». His research and innovative activity resulted in thesis for a doctor’s degree which he defended in 1999 at Federal scientific center «Bochvar All-Russian Research Institute» (Moscow, Russia).

At present Boris Vladimirovich is a professor of International Technology Postgraduate School Oskemen where he is engaged in teaching activities working with master students who are trained for working in  nuclear industry.

Boris Syrnev is the author of more than 150 scientific works, 27 inventions. He was awarded the grant «The best university teacher» in 2006, he was also awarded with medals «For achievements in the development of science in Kazakhstan» and «Veteran of nuclear-power engineering and industry of Russia» for his successful research activities. In 2008 he was elected the member of RK Academy of Natural Sciences.

Dear Boris Vladimirovch, ITPS OK team warmly congratulates you with your 75-th anniversary! We wish you good health, new professional and scientific achievements, energy and enthusiasm in teaching for training engineering elite for nuclear industry!
