Project abstract
The project goal is to develop scientific-methodological framework for forecasting and prospecting of rare metal deposits leading types to strengthen and develop mineral-raw material base of East Kazakhstan and Rocky Mountains of Colorado rare metal production from the viewpoint of modern geotectonic concepts (plate tectonics, plume tectonics etc.).
Relevance. Analysis of geological-geophysical materials proves that the known pegmatite and greisen-quartz veined deposits are concentrated mainly in selvages of eroded granite massifs and represented by relicts of former ore zones.
Ore indicators are apical parts and trans-intrusive zones of granite massifs, tectonically faulted, hydrothermal - metasomatically altered sedimentary rocks that are evident in fault structures and trans-intrusive zones (foliation, brecciation and shear, albitization, greysening, sulphidization and silicification, granite apophyses and exo-gresens). Typomorphic minerals include quartz, tourmaline, fluorite, beryl, muscovite, albite and others, geochemical elements are ore indicators - Sn, W, Li, Rb, Cs, B and others.
Expected and achieved results of the project:
Year |
The results obtained from the research. Publications (with links to them) and patents; information for potential users. |
---|---|
2020 year |
Work will be carried out to select promising objects of critical metals within East Kazakhstan. |
2021 year |
Based on a systematic analysis of a complex of ore-controlling factors and criteria, a scientific and methodological basis for forecasting and searching for new rare-metal deposits will be developed in order to strengthen and develop the mineral resource base for rare-metal production enterprises. As a result of scientific research, 1 article will be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals in the scientific direction of the project, included in the 3rd quartile in the Web of Science database and (or) having a Cite Score percentile in the Scopus database of at least 50 (fifty), indexed in the Scopus databases or WebofScience; 2 articles in journals recommended by KKSON, 2 conference theses. |
2022 year |
A comparative analysis of the patterns of formation and placement of critical metal deposits in the Rocky Mountains (Colorado state) and East Kazakhstan will be carried out in order to develop a scientific methodological basis for forecasting and prospecting works. As a result of scientific research, 1 article will be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals in the scientific direction of the project, which are included in the 3rd quartile in the WebofScience database and (or) have a percentile for CititeScore in the Scopus database of at least 50 (fifty).
