Project abstract
Today, geological reality dictates different methods of approach in the assessment and forecast of solid mineral deposits. These include the introduction of computer technology, reassessment of on-board and industrial contents of valuable components, more advanced methods of ore processing technology, modern geochemical searching methods, and improved methods for utilizing remote sensing data. The relevance of this scientific research project is based on the application of spectral-zonal characteristics of satellite data and ground-based instruments. Thanks to the introduction of analytical research methods and innovative computer technologies, these characteristics have undergone significant changes, enhancing their exploration informativeness. The applied value of the developed models lies in the ability to justify decisions in the tasks of deposits search and forecast, identifying and evaluating features of hidden, weakly eroded and buried systems with an expanded range of informative characteristics. The new geochemical method approach will be based on the analysis of satellite data from LANDSAT, ASTER and WorldView3 scenes. The standard of a well-known rare metal deposit in the study area (Central Kalba, East Kazakhstan region) will be used as the basis for interpretation and testing. Testing on a standard of a well-known deposit will help to determine the boundary indicators of the indices and identify the most effective methods for using satellite data. Verification of the data analysis and obtained results will be carried out on unknown objects that were not used as standard ones. Verification of the newly identified objects will be carried out through the field observations and lithogeochemical surveys, allowing for an evaluation of the effectiveness of the search and assess the method’s sensitivity threshold. Moreover, it is expected to highlight metasomatic zoning, lithological rock differences and structural control of ore bodies during the analysis of satellite data. The study will be carried out on the possibility of differentiating ore bodies by spectral characteristics.
Project goal
The purpose of the project is to develop searching and forecasting models of rare metal mineralization in the central part of the Kalba-Narym ore belt through the analysis of multispectral satellite data.
