Ethics Committee

The NJSC «D. Serikbayev EKTU» has an Ethics Committee, whose purpose is to shape and develop a culture of academic and professional ethics and to strengthen and ensure labour discipline at the university.

The main tasks of the Ethics Committee are:

  1. Ensuring compliance with labour discipline, standards of academic integrity, professional ethics and anti-corruption behaviour
  2. Considering appeals, complaints about labour discipline and ethical claims concerning the behaviour of employees and students
  3. Preventing violations of ethical standards by employees and students
  4. Preparing proposals for improving the university's internal policy in the ethical sphere
  5. Building trust and openness in the academic community.

The Ethics Committee at NJSC «D. Serikbayev EKTU» consists of:

  • the Disciplinary Commission
  • the Disciplinary Commission for Students
  • the Quality Assurance Commission

The Disciplinary Commission considers cases of violations of labour regulations, the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the internal rules of the university committed by employees, including:

  • corruption offences (with the participation of law enforcement agencies)
  • violations of the Corporate Code of Ethics and the Corporate Governance Code
  • systematic tardiness or absences from work or classes by faculty members without valid reasons
  • disciplinary offences requiring the application of disciplinary measures, etc.

The Disciplinary Commission for Students considers violations by students, master's students and doctoral students of the principles of academic integrity, university internal regulations and ethical standards, including:

  • cases of plagiarism, cheating on exams and other forms of academic dishonesty;
  • disciplinary violations in academic buildings, dormitories, and at university events;
  • misconduct that necessitates disciplinary measures, ranging from reprimands to expulsion, etc.

The Quality Assurance Commission reviews issues related to improving the quality of the educational process and establishing a unified internal mechanism for regulating and providing guidance on academic, methodological, and organizational matters related to the implementation of educational programs, including:

  • updating the academic policy of NJSC «D. Serikbayev EKTU»;
  • coordinating the activities of Academic Committees involved in the design and improvement of higher and postgraduate education programmes;
  • monitoring the quality of teaching and learning, developing recommendations for improving the educational process , etc.

Each commission carries out its activities in accordance with internal regulatory documents of NJSC «D. Serikbayev EKTU».
