The subject of professional activity is the design of buildings and structures for various purposes, urban formations and landscape objects that form a common harmonious environment for human life.

The functions of the professional activity of graduates in the specialty 6B07301 "Architecture" are the development of design documentation for buildings, structures and their complexes, landscape and urban planning objects, architectural monuments, promotion of the achievements of architectural and urban planning activities.
The direction of professional activity is architectural, construction and urban planning, studying the experience of designing populated areas, civil buildings and promoting achievements in the field of architecture.
Currently, classes in specialized disciplines of the educational program are conducted by highly qualified teachers-architects and designers. Among them, associate professor Naumova V.I., who was awarded the state grant "The best teacher of the university", thanks and diplomas from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Almost the entire staffing potential of the department is made up of graduates of our university, many of whom completed their postgraduate studies and defended their Ph.D. dissertations in Moscow, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg. Among them are Associate Professor Inozemtseva T.A., Senior Lecturer Feoktistova E.A.

Architectural design
Within the framework of the disciplines "Architectural design" students carry out educational projects of residential and public buildings for various purposes.
The submission and defense of course projects is one of the main types and forms of control of knowledge, skills and abilities of students obtained both in the study of the academic discipline and in the course of independent educational activities.

Under the program of academic mobility, students of the specialty "Architecture" were trained in the USA, Poland, and the Philippines. In 2021-2022 y., students studied at the Lublin Technical University (Poland). One of the attractive aspects of studying at a European university was the opportunity to visit other cities and countries. Thus, students were able to visit many European capitals: Paris, Rome, Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava, Amsterdam, Berlin, Warsaw, etc.
Contests
Under the guidance of teachers, students of the educational program "Architecture" participate in competitions, exhibitions, olympiads and other events of national and international significance.
On June 5-7, 2019 , the 15th International Final of the student competition " Multi -comfort from Saint - Gobain 2019" was held in Milan . The competition task included the development of three elements: the renovation of an existing high-rise building in the Cinzago district of Milan, the design of a new mid-rise building, and the development of a public area between the two buildings.
At the National stage, 2200 teams from 199 universities (34 countries) participated in the competition. 60 teams (125 students and 46 teachers) from 34 countries were selected for the International Final.
In 2019, the team of our university, consisting of a student of group 15-AR-1 Ermakova Anastasia, a senior teacher of the ASF Feoktistova Elena Alexandrovna and an associate professor Inozemtseva Tatayana Alexandrovna for the first time became the winner of the National Stage in Almaty and went to represent Kazakhstan at the International Final.
In 2021-2022 , the international competition "ALTYN SHANYRAK" was held, organized by a team of teachers of the EP "Architecture" and "Design of the architectural environment" of the EKTU named after. D. Serikbaev with the support of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan. More than 350 projects from 17 universities in 15 cities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Belarus took part in the competition.
As part of 17th International Student Competition (February 2022), organized by SAINT-GOBAIN GROUP in close cooperation with the city of Warsaw , students majoring in Architecture under the guidance of Inozemtseva T.A. took part and received prizes.
Research work of students
Students actively participate in research work and international conferences.
On April 7-8, 2022, the VIII International Scientific and Technical Conference of Students, Undergraduates and Young Scientists was held at the D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University "Creativity of young innovative development of Kazakhstan". This event was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the first rector Serikbaev D.M. and the 100th anniversary of the second rector Sidorov A.K. In section No. 2 Traditions, continuity and innovations in architecture and construction, in memory of the second rector Sidorov A.K. 13 articles were published in the specialty "Architecture".

Graduation projects defense
