Environmental and occupational safety issues are inevitably present in the conduct of any economic activity, so this specialty remains in demand all over the world.

As well as in the field of preserving the country's natural resources, both the resource base of industry and the national heritage to create conditions for the health of the nation of present and future generations.

Carbon Fiber Center
The center carries out research projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sequestration. The Center cooperates in this area with foreign universities. He oversees the organization of the carbon landfill at the Bukhtarma reservoir on the basis of the summer expedition campus "Prostor".

Undergraduates participate in the implementation of the PCF project on the topic "Research of avalanche activity in the East Kazakhstan region for the development of monitoring systems and scientific justification of their placement" (IRN BR21882022) /research/progectsmon/projects/br21882022.aspx.
The results of scientific research of undergraduates are regularly published in publications of national and international importance. They also participate in the construction of a "green" university, and carry out research on data collection and analysis within the framework of UI GreenMetric.

According to the educational program 7M11201 "Life safety and environmental protection", the academic mobility of undergraduates is effectively carried out. As part of the external academic mobility, Aidarkhanov Didar, a master's student of the 20 MB-2 group, completed an internship at Univetrsidad Politecnica de Madrid.
As part of the implementation of measures to implement internal academic mobility on the basis of an agreement on mutual cooperation in the field of educational services dated 09/01/2021 between the non-profit joint stock company "D.Serikbayev EKTU" and the non-profit joint stock company "Toraigyrov University", undergraduates of groups 23 MBJ-2 and 23-MBJ-2z study the discipline "Assessment of reliability, survivability and safety of technical systems" using distance learning in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year from 01/22/2024 to 06/02/2024.
