The main subject is mathematics.
The test subject of choice is physics.
Geodesy and cartography are the Sciences that determine the coordinates of individual points on the earth's surface; develop and compile various cartographic projections and maps in digital form; observe the movement of continents and the deformation of the earth's crust; solve various engineering problems on a construction site.
With the development of satellite and computer technologies, the surveyors area of work has expanded significantly. Knowledge and skills of specialists are used both in global and local levels: space research, geodesic support for design, construction, operation of engineering structures, monitoring of deformations, development of electronic maps, atlases, plans, shooting from unmanned aerial vehicles.
Employment of undergraduate graduates was 98% in 2023 year.
Training of a highly qualified specialist
able to demonstrate functional literacy and competitiveness in professional situations, successfully combining knowledge, skills and abilities in carrying out various topographical and geodetic and cartographic works, using modern geodetic equipment and means of automated processing of geodetic, land surveying and cadastral information
Languages: Russian, Kazakh
Field of activity: graduates can work in topographical and geodetic enterprises, district (city) departments of architecture and urban planning, construction organizations, private enterprises that have a license to produce geodetic and cartographic works in the following positions: civil engineer, technician surveyor, mapmaker, specialist, etc.
In all specialties, the 1st and 2nd-year students are trained in the working profession with the qualification "Measurer on topographic and geodesic and surveying works of the 2nd and 3rd category".

International partner institution: Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies
Students have the opportunity to complete a joint internship at the Siberian state University of geosystems and technologies in Novosibirsk, Russian Federation.
Training practice is conducted in the summer expedition camp "Prostor" on the Bank of the Bukhtarma reservoir, production practice - on the basis of production enterprises of the city, region, Kazakhstan.
A hostel is provided for students from other cities. Students are trained at the military Department with the assignment of officer rank.
After graduation, the graduate is awarded the academic degree of bachelor of engineering and technology in education program. After completing the bachelor's degree, graduates have the opportunity to continue their studies in the master's program of D. Serikbayev EKTU in education program 7M07302 "Geodesy".
Research work
In the implementation of the educational programme it is obligatory to involve students in research work. The results of students' scientific research are regularly published in publications of national and international importance. Students take an active part in competitions of student scientific works, in Republican and International scientific conferences of young scientists and students.
Close ties are maintained with universities of Russia, Germany, USA, Czech Republic, Uzbekistan and others. Foreign scientists give lectures, conduct laboratory and practical classes.
