Geology and exploration of mineral deposits and educational programs is a branch of science aimed at the geological study of the Earth's interior, searches and exploration of all types of useful mineral deposits with the aim of developing and strengthening the mineral resource base of Kazakhstan.

Under the academic mobility program, students have the opportunity to study at universities far abroad (Poland, Germany, Japan, etc.) for a semester, as well as go on internships abroad, take part in summer schools within the framework of the international educational program Erasmus+, DAAD, etc. educational program from the 2021-2022 academic year on the basis of two partner universities (VKTU named after D. Serikbaev and KarTU named after Abylkas Saginov), internal academic mobility of students is being implemented. According to the teaching staff of the educational program, academic mobility is one of the most important directions in the process of integrating Kazakhstani universities into the international educational space.

Students undergo educational practice at their own training ground in "GeoHubEKTU" in the Summer Expedition Camp "PROSTOR" on the basis of the university and practical training in research institutes, in service companies in different cities of Kazakhstan (KAZMinerals LLP, Kazzinc LLP, "Bakyrchik Mining Enterprise", "Kazakhmys Corporation" LLP, "GRK Educational Programmaaz" LLP, JSC FIK "Alel", "RGGold" LLP, JSC NAC "KazAtomProm" and others) with subsequent employment.
