Quality Assurance Committee

Based on Order No. 447-P dated October 6, 2025, the Quality Assurance Committee has been established in the School of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Committee Composition

  1. Bazar Uyimkhan – Acting Deputy Dean – Chairperson;
  2. Popova Galina Vladimirovna – Associate Professor, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences;
  3. Bukhatanova Zukhra Berdybekovna – Acting Head of the Office of Educational and Methodological Management, Master’s degree holder;
  4. Blinaeva Elena Vasilievna – Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences;
  5. Zhomartkyzy Gulnaz – Associate Professor, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD);
  6. Sergazy Kazbek Ardakuly – Master’s student, group 24-MIS-2t;
  7. Vais Katerina Yuryevna – Bachelor’s student, group 22-VT-1.

Purpose and Objectives of the Quality Assurance Committee

The purpose of the Quality Assurance Committee is to establish a unified internal mechanism for regulation and consultation on academic, methodological, and organizational matters related to the implementation of educational programs (EPs) at EKTU.

Objectives of the Committee:

  • Updating the Academic Policy of EKTU.
  • Coordinating the activities of Academic Committees engaged in the design and improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate educational programs.
  • Conducting an expert review of the content of educational programs for compliance with qualification requirements presented by the business community.
  • Monitoring the modernization of the university’s educational programs and improving the methodology for program development.

Functions of the Quality Assurance Committee

The Committee shall:

  • Approve necessary amendments to educational programs and the design of new/innovative programs;
  • Evaluate and develop recommendations to improve the quality of educational programs in the relevant field;
  • Approve and submit educational programs for consideration by the Academic Council of the university;
  • Interact with employers and graduates to clarify graduate competency requirements and assess the quality of training;
  • Review current issues of academic, methodological, and organizational work based on recommendations from the Chair of the Board – Rector, school deans, department heads, and program leaders;
  • Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on the organization of the educational process at Non-Profit Joint-Stock Company “D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University” (EKTU);
  • Approve credit transfer for students based on verifiable transcripts from other educational institutions (academic mobility, transfer, reinstatement), as well as the acquisition of additional credits beyond those established by the educational program in one academic period;
  • Make decisions on the recognition of learning outcomes obtained through non-formal education;
  • Approve the number and list of courses for individual re-study for students with academic debts;
  • Make decisions regarding academic attestation on the implementation of individual study plans for master’s and doctoral students;
  • Organize student surveys on the quality of educational programs and/or disciplines/modules, and on issues of academic integrity;
  • Analyze interim assessment results in comparison with midterm control outcomes for the school’s disciplines, in accordance with the evaluation table reflecting the percentage distribution of grades above the passing level among different student groups;
  • Oversee the formation of the catalog of elective disciplines to ensure continuity and eliminate duplication across education levels;
  • Coordinate the review and quality control of course syllabi;
  • Consider conflict situations related to internal and external academic or organizational disputes.
