The educational program "Mechanics and metalworking" is designed to train highly qualified specialists in the field of mechanical engineering and is designed to prepare graduates for:

• production and technological activities in the field of modern machine-building production based on the most advanced advanced resource-saving technologies;
• design and engineering activities with the use of computer-aided design of machine-building products and welding production, technological processes of their production and means of technological equipment of these processes;
• organizational and managerial activities to ensure the effective functioning of machine-building production;
• research activities in the field of creation of innovative technologies for the production of products in mechanical engineering and means of their technological equipment;
• self-taught.

Graduates of OP "Mechanics and Metalworking" can work in managerial, administrative and managerial positions and as technical workers in design, engineering, technological, research and survey organizations, as well as in machine-building enterprises of any profile; mechanical and mechanical repair plants, departments of mechanical engineering at the city and regional levels as a director, technical director, shop supervisor, deputy chief technologist in the direction, head of production, chief technologist or designer, foreman, mechanic, project manager, lead mechanic, operator of automatic metal cutting machines, operator of machine tools with software control, design engineer, design engineer, process engineer, quality engineer, mechanical engineer, a machine operator of a wide profile, a turner, a milling machine operator, a grinder, a surfacer, an adjuster of control and measuring devices, a controller of assembly and assembly lines.

The objects of professional activity of graduates are machine-building enterprises and organizations of all forms of ownership, as well as:

• objects of machine-building production;
• technological equipment and tool equipment;
• technological equipment and means of mechanization and automation of technological processes of mechanical engineering;
• production technological processes, their development and development of new technologies;
• means of information, metrological, diagnostic and management support of technological systems to achieve the quality of manufactured products;
• normative and technical documentation, standardization and certification systems, methods and means of testing and quality control of mechanical engineering products;
• management bodies of the enterprise;
• organizations of state and non-state forms of ownership, including industry, transport and communications, agriculture and utilities, the military-industrial complex, production and consumption.

The educational program – "Mechanics and metalworking", unlike other engineering specialties of our university (having mainly a design specialization) is mainly aimed at technological preparation of production and involves two specializations:

• engineering Technology, metal-cutting machines and tools;
• equipment and technology of welding production.

For training, oriented on development of professional competencies, concluded the contract on joint cooperation and organization of practical base with machine-building enterprises (JSC "Hydrocelectomy", JSC "Ust-Kamenogorsk industrial valves plant", JSC "Ust-Kamenogorsk valve plant JSC, Vostokmashzavod"), which hosts field trips, educational and industrial practices.

Excursions of students in the leading enterprises of Ust-Kamenogorsk are regularly conducted.

In summer, you can relax in the recreation center "Prostor", located on the Bank of the Bukhtarma reservoir.

When implementing an educational program, it is mandatory to involve students in research work. The subject of scientific works is determined by the existing enterprises of Ust-Kamenogorsk and the region, and agreements on scientific and technical cooperation have been concluded with them (Vostokmashzavod JSC, Ust-Kamenogorsk rebar plant JSC, Ulbinsky metallurgical plant JSC, Mashzavod LLP, Hydrostalconstruction JSC, kazzinkmash LLP, kazzinkteh JSC (Ridder), kazzinktech LLP, etc. enterprises of the city and region), as well as practical training, assistance in course, diploma projects, and research. The results of scientific research of students are regularly published in national and international publications.

Students and sponsors take an active part in competitions of student scientific papers, in Republican and International scientific conferences of young scientists and students, sports competitions.

At the Republican subject Olympiads in the specialty, students annually win prizes.

After graduation, the student is awarded the academic degree of bachelor of mechanical engineering in the educational program 6B07112 «Mechanics and metalworking».

After completing the bachelor's degree, graduates have the opportunity to continue their studies in the master's program of EKTU in the specialty 7M07100 " Mechanics and metalworking ".
