Misson: Development and maintenance of united informational and ctelecommunicational platform of university. which provides all the tools to automate educational and financial processes within university.

Corporate network of EKSTU unites local networks of 5 buildings, including 3 educational facilities and 2 dormitory.

Informational and educational portal of EKTU can be accessed through Internet, local network on www.do.ektu.kz.
For electronic mail inboxes there is a special service accessible from anywhere. The only requirement is Internet availability.
Access to the Internet is maintained through dedicated line with 500 Mb/s bandwidth.
Most crowded and public places are covered by WiFi hotspots to access the Internet.
There are zones with common and special free access to the Internet.
Primary internal netwrok lines have bandwidth of 1 Gb/s or more.
Users of EKTU corporate computer network are the organizers of the forums and international events with the participation of the President, Government and regional and municipal administrations and other governmental, non-governmental organizations and enterprises. STMICR staff provided technical support to three international forums with the participation of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, one of these meetings took place with the participation of the President of Russia.

The Division serves 16 computer classrooms of the University, with 180 seats. Staff performs maintenance of computers, network administration in computer rooms, computer rooms preparation (cloning, testing, software updates), modernization of the equipment, acquisition of new items for educational software library, maintenance of electronic testing, maintenance of the video surveillance system of the University and more.
Development and maintenance of software
Employees of the department has developed an automated system for testing "Electronic testing." This system is designed to measure students' knowledge with a testing method. It operates with bank of test questions on disciplines and generates individual test sets for each student. It provides automated data aggregation interms of contingent of students, creation and introduction of a bank of test questions on disciplines, generation of tests from a bank of questions on subjects, reporting on the results of testing. Polls are also taken in electronic form, some of them includes "Teacher by the eyes of students", "Teacher by the eyes graduates" and "Teacher by the eyes of colleagues."
