Description: The discipline is designed to form students' theoretical and methodological knowledge of the basics of financial management, its goals, objectives, methods and principles, to develop practical skills in effective asset management, equity and liabilities, portfolio investments, cash flow regulation, risk assessment and management of the company, determining its value. As a result of studying the discipline, the student acquires competencies in the field of financial planning of the company, optimization of its capital structure, formation of sources of financing and development of capital management policy.

Goal
  • The purpose of this course is to familiarize undergraduates with the theoretical and practical aspects of financial relations arising in the process of managing the financial resources of an enterprise. The teaching of the course "Financial Management (advanced course)" aims to instill in undergraduates knowledge about financial management as a science, practice and art of financial management of an enterprise.
Objective
  • In the process of studying the discipline, undergraduates are assigned the following tasks: - to study in depth the content of the main categories of financial management; - to get acquainted with the composition, structure, principles of organization and management of the financial system; - to consider the functions of finance, their role in expanded reproduction, the possibility of using financial relations in the economic and financial policy of the enterprise and their implementation through the financial mechanism; - to be able to analyze modern problems in the field of finance and find ways to solve them.

  • рассмотреть функции финансов, их роль в расширенном воспроизводстве, возможности использования финансовых отношений в экономической и финансовой политике предприятия и их реализации через финансовый механизм;

  • Knowledge and understanding of: the goals and objectives of financial management in the conditions of innovative development of enterprises; forms and methods of financial management; types of financial planning, ways of forming a firm's budget and managing its cash; fundamentals of fixed and working capital management; financial mechanism of enterprise management and its tools.

  • skills in drawing up a financial plan, choosing a dividend policy, analyzing and evaluating the economic effectiveness of capital investment measures

  • the ability to analyze the results of the production and financial activities of an economic entity and correctly interpret them; the ability to predict capital investment options, evaluate them and make a final decision; the ability to develop programs for the use of financial resources;
  • ability to objectively assess the current economic situation at the enterprise and make adequate decisions in the field of organization and management of its financial and economic activities
Learning outcome: communicative abilities
  • fluency in foreign languages at a professional level, which allows conducting scientific research and teaching the discipline "Financial Management" at the university; the presence of professional communication skills, correct and logical formalization of one's thoughts in oral and written form, is able to use modern technical means and information technologies in the accounting process and during audits to solve communicative tasks

Teaching methods

During the training sessions, the use of the following educational technologies is provided: - interactive lecture (the use of the following active forms of learning: guided (guided) discussion or conversation; moderation; demonstration of slides or educational films; brainstorming; motivational speech); - creation of scenarios for the development of various situations based on specified conditions; - information and communication (for example, classes in a computer classroom using professional application software packages); - search and research (independent research activity of students in the learning process); - solving educational tasks.

Assessment of the student's knowledge

Teacher oversees various tasks related to ongoing assessment and determines students' current performance twice during each academic period. Ratings 1 and 2 are formulated based on the outcomes of this ongoing assessment. The student's learning achievements are assessed using a 100-point scale, and the final grades P1 and P2 are calculated as the average of their ongoing performance evaluations. The teacher evaluates the student's work throughout the academic period in alignment with the assignment submission schedule for the discipline. The assessment system may incorporate a mix of written and oral, group and individual formats.

  • 40% of the examination result;
  • 60% of current control result.
