Data mining in scientific research
Description: The course is aimed at studying the principles of operation and stages of data mining; research, creation of data mining models; development of practical skills in the use of Data Mining methods and tools. Algorithms with supervised and unsupervised learning methods, stages of evaluating the results of data mining for solving scientific and technological problems in the direction of dissertation research are studied.

Goal
- formation of doctoral students' holistic understanding of data mining technologies, tools and their use, study and application of data mining methods to solve various scientific and practical problems.
Learning outcome: knowledge and understanding
- Understanding of data mining principles and methods, knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques for extracting new knowledge and identifying patterns.
Learning outcome: applying knowledge and understanding
- ability to perform preliminary data processing, ability to apply appropriate methods and algorithms of data mining, knowledge of tools and software for data mining, ability to interpret the results obtained in the course of data mining, compliance with ethical norms in scientific research.

- The ability to assess the quality, reliability and relevance of data, to present ideas, to argue and prove logically, the ability to draw conclusions and make informed decisions.

- The ability to clearly and structurally describe the completed stages of work, the methods used and the results obtained, to answer questions, to argue their position on the basis of the data.
