Car battery packs
Description: This discipline is dedicated to the in-depth study of rechargeable batteries used in electric vehicles. During the course, students will learn about the classification of existing battery technologies, as well as the materials and components used in their production. Typical designs of lithium-ion and lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) traction batteries are considered in detail, including the principles of their operation and promising areas of design development. Students actively participate in the analysis of the design features of both starter and traction batteries. Special attention is paid to electronic control systems for their operation and charging processes, as well as modern technologies for battery diagnostics and maintenance. Upon completion of the course, students will have the necessary skills and practical skills to diagnose the condition of batteries and associated electronic control systems (both operating modes and charging). They will master the methods of testing the operability of individual battery components and will learn how to carry out maintenance of auxiliary equipment.
