Plotnikov S.V. proved to be a good organizer. During the leadership of the faculty, the EKSU organized the training of physics engineers with specializations - solid state physics, spectroscopy, quality control devices and methods, production technology of rare and scattered elements, theoretical physics.

During the management of the faculty, 7 bachelor's degree specialties, 6 master's degree specialties and one PhD were opened at EKSTU. Scientific and industrial relations have been established with the laboratories of the leading enterprises of the region: JSC UMZ, TMK, CCS, the Committee on Ecology, the National Research Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kurchatov).
