D.Serikbaev EKSTU in collaboration with Berlin Technical university and Volkswagen foundation announce a competition for participation in the second stage of project «Sustainable Mobility Research in Central Asia» (SUMRICA). Master students, masters and doctorate students can participate in the competition
The theme of the second project suggests the following research spheres:
- Compactness/ connectivity as a precondition for accessibility,
- Accessibility and its importance within the framework of Sustainable Urban Mobility,
- Dimensions of accessibility (temporal, spatial, social, economic/ financial as affordability, qualitative vs. quantitative accessibility),
- Mixed land-use structures (e.g. job/ housing balance, concepts of self-containment),
- Walkability,
- Sustainable Urban Mobility (strategic background as contemporary regional discourses, participation, paradigms, imperatives, governance structures; stakeholder assessment;
practical assessment of sustainability, e.g. development of an indicator system).
VW Foundation granted the funding for completing research stays in Germany for 3 months, for participation in summer schools that will be held in CA countries. The grants are provided for:
- researchers/instructors with master’s or PhD degrees. Monthly payment: 1400 Euro (no tax) including insurance and visa costs. Payable (6 times 3 month scholarships);
- PhD and pre- PhD students. Monthly payment: 1300 Euro including insurance and visa costs. Payable (6 times 3 month scholarships
- master students. Monthly payment: 1.100 Euro including insurance and visa costs. Payable (6 times 3 month scholar)
The requirements to project applicants:
- S/he must be a master student, a doctorate student, a young researcher of D. Serikbaev EKSTU.
- His / her competence in English must be not less than А2-B1
- S/he must provide a CV and concept of his/her participation in the project + calendar plan.
