The SUMRICA Conference is open for participants interested in sustainable mobility in the regional context of Central Asia and Iran. The conference concludes the SUMRICA (Sustainable Urban Mobility in Central Asia) research project, which started in 2018. SUMRICA aims to tackle the societal challenges of Central Asian countries and Iran concerning urban mobility by capacity building and increasing academic and professional awareness of sustainable transportation modes. The conference is recommended especially for young researchers, instructors, and other professionals interested in directly influencing the future mobility and urban planning trends in Central Asia and Iran.
SUMRICA is being coordinated by the Center for Technology and Society (ZTG) of the Technische Universität Berlin and is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. The project partners are five universities from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan as well as Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran (Iran), which is hosting the final Conference.
