In the hall of EKSTU the meeting of Nurlan Temirbekov, University Rector, with Faculty and staff of the university was held. Dialogue began with a discussion of the problems in the field of higher education mentioned in the recent speech of Aslan Sarinzhipov, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Some statements of the Program “Priorities for Education and Science for 2014-2016” were discussed. Among them the following were mentioned: autonomy of the universities in order to enhance competition between them, the establishment of supervisory boards, active development of science. Transition of secondary schools for 12 years of schooling was noted among the most difficult ones. As Nurlan Muhanovich noted, this innovation will directly affect higher educational institutions.

From targets for the future, the conversation moved to the present situation and prospects in high school for the coming year. Faculty and staff asked many questions, and Nurlan Temirbekov tried to give a full and detailed response foreach of them.
