D. Serikbayev EKTU scientists have won grants in 4 projects who had participated in the program-targeted funding competition for scientific and scientific-technical programs for 2023-2025 years from Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It is interesting to note that EKTU has become a co-executor in two megaprojects that will be implemented in cooperation with L. N. Gumilev Eurasian National University and K. Satpayev KazNRTU.

Over the past year, the financing of science in Kazakhstan has tripled and estimated at 147 billion tenge. This is a tremendous opportunity for the development of Kazakhstan science, including the university science.

Due to the support of the government and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the scientists have managed to expand their research and gain access to modern technologies and equipment.

As Saule Rakhmetullina, the Chairman of the Board - Rector of D. Serikbayev EKTU has noted, "The experience of EKTU shows that in 2023, the annual budget from scientific research and commercialization of research results increased to almost 3.5 times and estimated at 2.328 billion tenge compared to last year. This is over 30% of the total budget of the university."

Moreover, this year the university has received a significant funding for scientific research and commercialization from various sources. This includes the Republican budget allocated for the grant, program-targeted financing, international funds and RND projects with foreign and local partners.

According to the results of the program of targeted financing competition, EKTU scientists have won 4 projects worth more than 2 billion tenge on the following topics:

  • "Development and implementation of supersonic arc metallization technology for hardening and restoration of agricultural machinery parts". The head of the project is PhD, Associate Professor Rakhadilov Bauyrzhan Korabaevich;
  • "Creation of a national model of engineering education in the context of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals". The head of the project is PhD, Associate Professor Smailova Saule Sansyzbaevna;
