The conference "University of SCO - New Horizons for distance education: experience, practice and prospects " was held in Karaganda on 10-12 of April on the basis of the Karaganda Economic University of Kazakhstan consumers’ union.
Abylayhan Akerke (the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan), Malyutin Dmitry( the Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation) and representatives from 22 universities of Russia (Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg) , Kazakhstan (Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Shymkent), Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek), Tajikistan (Dushanbe) took part in the conference.
At the plenary session the rector of Karaganda Economic University Aymagambetov E.B. pointed out the direction of the conference by his report " Implementation of the educational programs of the SCO Network University in the Karaganda Economic University: Experiences and Challenges."
Abylayhan Akerke – the Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Information Technology Department, in her report “Development of SCO University as an important factor of cooperation between SCO countries” informed on the work of the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan in the SCO University direction.
Dmitry Malyutin – the coordinator of the SCO University in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation said about the plan of SCO activities in the report " SCO University: current challenges and near-term prospects."
Experience of Russian universities in the direction of SCO was presented by:
- Doctor of Physics and Mathematical Science, Corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk State University professor – A.N. Fedotov;
- International Affairs Vice President of Astrakhan State University – N.M. Hurchak;
- Candidate of Technical Science, Associate professor, Director of the e-learning department of the National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" – M. Dmitriev;
- Collaborator of the academic mobility office of St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics – R.M. Subaeva
Kazakhstan universities’ experience was presented by:
- Doctor of Economic Science, Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Hystory, Head of SCO Department of K. Satpayev Kazakh National Technical University – M.K. Naribaevym
Further work was held at the sessions:
- Technique and methodology of distance technologies and e-learning in education on the basis of SCO University’s network infrastructure, considering national and cultural features of the SCO members.
- Innovative approaches to the formation and use of electronic educational resources and their correspondence to strategic development of the head (base) universities of SCO.
- New format of the educational and research processes on the basis of the SCO University’s network infrastructure and development plans of research and innovation activity of the head (base) universities.
D. Serikbaev EKSTU representatives took part in the section 2. Candidate of Physics and Mathematical Science, Head of Chair, Natalia Denisova made a report " Results of IT Master's programs testing at the SCO University", Head of Office of the Information Educational Technologies Department Svetlana Konstantinova informed on " The Experience with "SPORTAL" platform in EKSTU for training SCO students".
EKSTU experience on SCO University’s educational programs was highly estimated, the problems presented by the university’ s representatives were topical to all the partner SCO universities and suggestions for their solving were introduced into the draft of the conference decision.
