As previously reported, the XXII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Ethno-demographic processes in Kazakhstan and adjacent territories" was held on September 25-26. Its strategic result was the signing of cooperation agreements between the East Kazakhstan Technical University named after D. Serikbayev and a number of CIS universities such as the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn (Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic), Irkutsk State University (Irkutsk, Russia), and Pacific State University (Khabarovsk, Russia).

This event is an example of how international cooperation of scientists opens new perspectives for the development of the whole system of higher education, makes more accessible a wide range of opportunities not only for research work, but also for new educational programs and professional development of teaching staff.

Among the main directions, which, in accordance with the signed documents, are planned to be implemented on a permanent basis - the development of various forms and levels of academic mobility of students and teachers (for example, the organization of scientific internships for undergraduates, masters and doctoral students in the main educational programs), opportunities for dual-diploma education, reaching a new level of organizational and scientific - methodological support of the educational process, new joint research in the field of humanities, natural sciences and natural sciences, as well as the development of new joint projects in the field of international cooperation.

More detailed discussion of joint plans took place at the round table, which was attended by Ertay Sultan, Member of the Board-Rector for International Cooperation, Konstantin Grigorichev, Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities of Irkutsk State University, Zhamoykat Omurova, Head of the Department of Regional Studies and Kyrgyz Studies of the Kyrgyz National University, Leonid Blyakher, Professor of the Higher School of Social and Political Sciences of the Pacific State University, and others.

Cooperation agreements between universities of different countries are horizontal ties that form a living space of collaborations, contribute to the strengthening of friendly relations between peoples. Historically, Kazakhstan has always been a place of cultural dialogue and knowledge exchange. The signing of new international cooperation agreements is a worthy continuation of the tradition that works for modernization.
