NJSC D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU)
Since 2023, the University has been implementing “Silver University” social and educational project. The project is designed to provide opportunities for creative and professional development of the older generation (60+).
Project Goal is to create a supportive environment for active longevity, expand opportunities for personal growth, and enhance the quality of life for senior citizens.
Key Objectives of the Silver University are:
- strengthening physical and mental health;
- acquiring new knowledge and skills to promote intellectual and creative longevity;
- enhancing quality of life through digital, financial, and legal literacy;
- facilitating the transfer of knowledge and experience to the younger generation.
- providing platforms for personal fulfillment and social engagement.
Over the past three years, more than 275 participants have successfully completed our programs.
During the academic year, participants can enroll in six relevant and high-demand courses:
- Kazakh Language
- English Language
- Digital Literacy
- Wellness & Health
- Legal and Financial Security
- Art Therapy
Classes are held in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. All programs are specially adapted to the needs of older learners and focus on practical application of knowledge.
Education at the “Silver University” is provided free of charge.
Why It Matters:
The “Silver University” has already proven its significance. It helps participants feel more confident, stay in harmony with modern technology, and remain active members of the society. The project reduces social isolation, fosters new skills, and inspires personal growth – regardless of age.
